Kirk Shapland as "Cody of the Plains" brings a Young Buffalo Bill Cody to life through his stirring living history presentations.  The audience both young and old will feel as though they are in the presence of Buffalo Bill both through Kirk's remarkable resemblance to Buffalo Bill and his commanding knowledge of Cody and his life.

Kirk as "Cody of the Plains" presents the following three programs.

An ideal program for ages 8-12 is Kirk's program entitled "Billy Cody Grows Up."  In this program, students and the audience will hear how Buffalo Bill as a young boy came from Iowa to Kansas Territory.  During this period, a young Billy Cody watched his father be stabbed as he gave an anti-slavery speech in Leavenworth, Kansas.  Audiences will see the events that shaped a young boy of the plains into the burgeoning scout of the plains and later showman.

A program for theaters and historical societies is "Earning a Name."  In this program, Kirk will present Cody's early life of scouting and Buffalo hunting.  Audiences will hear how Cody earned the name "Buffalo Bill" in a competition with Comstock and how the name became synonomous with Cody and the lifestyle led by some of the scouts of the plains.

Another program in that same line is "Hunting with the Grand Duke."  This program is a narrative concerning not only the Grand Duke Hunt but also various guided hunts that Bill was involved in.  This program would be excellent for older students, theaters or historical societies.
